About NWO Soccer

The NW Optimist Soccer Club is a non-profit youth service organization established in the 1970’s by the NW Optimist Club, which is a part of Optimist International. It is run solely by volunteers supporting youth activities such as youth soccer, teen and high school baseball, fishing derby and oratorical contests. The park area is maintained and improved by volunteers with donations and funds generated by these activities. All proceeds go directly back into the park area for improvements.

We have 8 fields accommodating teams ranging from under 6 years of age to under 19. We provide our players and spectators with paved parking, clean restrooms and a NEW concession stand located in the heart of the complex. We are located at NW 50th and Meridian at Dolese Park across from Putnam city High School football stadium.

NW Optimist Soccer Club has both recreational and competitive teams available for boys and girls and is dedicated to providing the youths of our area the opportunity to play the exciting sport of soccer.

Recreational teams are formed to provide all players the opportunity to play soccer. There are no tryouts or training fees. Each player must provide birth date verification and registration fees. All players must play least 50% of each game. The Coach can play a player less than the required 50% for Medical or Disciplinary reasons only. The Coach is required to identify this player to the referee and the other teams Coach prior to the game. Volunteer Coaches are always needed for the Recreational Leagues. Please contact one of the League Coordinators for more information.

Competitive teams are formed to provide players who are looking to play collegiate or professional level soccer an opportunity to prepare for the future. Competitive teams will have different rules for registration and other commitments associated with their club. You can expect tryouts, training fees, and traveling with competitive soccer. If you would like more information on playing competitive soccer, please contact Northwest Optimist Soccer or feel free to contact the competitive teams individually.
