Congratulations to the NWO Stars basketball team for taking 3rd place at Nationals. Coached by Matt Clark, the Northwest Optimist stars had a great season!
We’re happy to announce the Legacy Scholarship applications are now open for 2019. The Oklahoma District of Optimist International has created 3, $1000 Legacy scholarships, to honor three of its most esteemed members. Nikki Krohn, manager of Hooters restaurant, was awarded an appreciation plaque for their generous donation to Northwest Optimist.
Our annual picnic was a big success this year. Thanks to the Northwest Optimist Outbreak for bringing out all their teams and parents!
This past Saturday, Optimist members were on hand to build a new fence for our maintenance “backyard” as well as put in an aluminum bench for the Palmer Field batting cage.
Using open land just west of the SCU baseball field, Southwester Christian has broken ground and began laying out the softball field.
Matt Clark’s basketball camp was hosted from July 30 – Aug 1 and had great turnout. Matt hosts camps in Oklahoma and Texas throughout the year to teach kids the fundamentals of Basketball.
Since the fall of last year, the Northwest Optimist club has been planning and working on a new maintenance building. As of last Saturday, we have the building up and the sign in place. The new building features a much larger maintenance garage and updated bathroom facilities.
This year the NWO Outbreak had the chance to travel to Blaine, Minnesota and play in the 2018 USA cup soccer tournament.
